Terms of Service
Last updated: August 13, 2026
1. Who operates Scrapalot
Scrapalot is operated by Šimun Šunjić, Siget 18D, 10020 Zagreb, Croatia. OIB: 85146524773. Contact: hello@mail.scrapalot.app. These details are published under Article 6 of the Croatian Electronic Commerce Act (Zakon o elektroničkoj trgovini), which requires a service provider to identify itself to the people it serves.
2. These terms
These terms govern your use of Scrapalot AI ("Scrapalot", "we"), an AI research assistant for your own documents, available at scrapalot.app and as desktop and Android applications. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. How we handle your data is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Questions: hello@mail.scrapalot.app.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Scrapalot. Keep your login details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it. Provide accurate registration details and keep your email address current, since that is how we reach you about your account. Scrapalot is not directed at children under 13, and accounts must not be created on behalf of them.
4. Your content stays yours
The documents, notes, and chats you upload or create remain your content. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the permission we need to actually run the service for you: to store your content, process and index it so it can be searched, and send the relevant parts to the AI model providers configured for your account so they can produce the answers you ask for. That permission exists for the purpose of operating Scrapalot and for nothing else. We do not sell your content and we do not use your documents to train models. You can delete individual documents and notes at any time, or delete your whole account — see How to delete your account.
5. What you upload
You are responsible for the content you put into Scrapalot. By uploading it you confirm you have the right to do so, and that doing so does not infringe someone else's copyright, privacy, or other rights. Scrapalot is a private research tool: what you upload is visible to you and to anyone you deliberately share it with through a sharing feature. Bear in mind that uploading material you do not hold the rights to may be unlawful regardless of the fact that your library is private.
6. Acceptable use
Use Scrapalot lawfully and do not use it to harm others. In particular, do not use it to produce or distribute material that is illegal; to harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate anyone; to build anything intended to hurt people; to break into, overload, probe, or disrupt the service or the systems it runs on; to work around plan limits, quotas, or access controls; or to resell or redistribute access to the service unless we have agreed to it in writing. Automated access is fine through the API and interfaces we provide, within the limits of your plan — not by scraping or by driving the product with bots in ways that degrade it for other people.
7. AI answers are a research aid, not an authority
Scrapalot generates answers with AI models. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken, including when it cites your own documents — always check anything that matters against the source. Nothing Scrapalot produces is professional advice. Where the product researches medical, legal, or financial questions for you, it does so to inform you, and it does not replace a doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, or other qualified professional; do not act on it in place of professional judgement, and never use it to make decisions in an emergency. If you are in crisis or someone is in danger right now, contact your local emergency number — 112 anywhere in the EU — or a local crisis line, rather than an AI assistant.
8. Models and third-party providers
Answers are generated by AI model providers. Depending on your plan and settings, that is either a provider Scrapalot supplies or one you connect yourself with your own API key ("bring your own key"). When you connect your own provider, your use of it is governed by that provider's terms and pricing as well as these terms, and any costs it charges you are yours. We may change which providers and models are available as the field moves, and we may run models locally where that serves the product better.
9. Plans, billing, and the free trial
Current plans and prices are on the pricing page. Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or annually, through Stripe — we never see your full card number. Paid plans offer a 14-day free trial that does not ask for a credit card and can be used once per account; when the trial ends nothing is charged and the account simply returns to the free plan. Plan limits (storage, usage quotas, features) apply as shown on the pricing page, and we may change prices or limits with reasonable notice — changes take effect at your next billing period, never retroactively.
10. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Settings → Account, through the Stripe billing portal — it takes no more steps than signing up did, and there is nothing to phone or email. When you cancel you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Beyond that, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee: within 30 days of subscribing you can request a refund from the app, the latest charge is refunded, and the account reverts to the free plan immediately. Trials cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund on them. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, your statutory rights — including the right of withdrawal — apply on top of this and are not limited by it.
11. Availability
We work to keep Scrapalot running and to keep your data safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, updates, third-party provider outages, and faults happen. The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law gives you and does not allow us to exclude. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose — your documents are yours, and you can export them.
12. Liability
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for the statutory rights of consumers.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Scrapalot and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or that puts the service or other users at risk — where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right, and where an account is closed for a reason that is not your fault we refund the unused part of a paid period. Closing an account removes your content as described in the Privacy Policy, so export anything you want to keep beforehand.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The current version is always on this page with the date below, and we will announce material changes in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Scrapalot after a change takes effect, that is your acceptance of it; if you do not accept it, you can cancel and delete your account.
15. Governing law
Scrapalot is operated from Croatia, and these terms are governed by Croatian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
